Hi, I’m Paul,

thanks for stopping by and considering me as your wedding photographer. For me wedding photography is much more than just turning up and taking a few great photos, it’s about approaching things differently, telling a story and making your day as fun and memorable as possible.

I have a history of working in different fields of photography that I bring to my work. I believe that my sense of adventure from travelling the world, my photographic education, and my wealth of experience of working as an events, expedition and fine art photographer brings something unique to my style. As well as starting my own wedding photography business, I have been exhibiting my photography throughout the UK and abroad, co founded a photography collective and have worked in Africa as an expedition photographer for an NGO. I started my career as a studio portrait photographer during which time I studied a BA in photography and later an M.A.

In my free time I like to go on long walks with my camera. In the past few years I've walked across England three times, walked across France and Spain, trekked across the Himalayas, South and Central America and lived in many different places. My wedding photography is very much inspired by this passion for the outdoors, the sea and beach, forests and hills and the subtle changes in the light. Mostly however, I'm influenced by the couples I photograph, how they came to be together and their joy of being together. 

What I do

I am a storyteller and my aim is to capture what makes you, your family and your friends individual, whilst documenting your wedding day and all the things you might miss. I make images in a relaxed and unobtrusive way, capturing natural moments rather than making images that are overly posed. Occasionally I gently intervene, to create beautiful couple and group shots. I believe that light is key to creating the best images, anticipating weather, finding perfectly lit spots, and knowing where to be at the right time throughout the day.

I try to get to know each couple before your wedding day, enabling me to bring out their personality in the way that I photograph them. I will never make couples do anything that would make them feel uneasy. We can meet beforehand and discuss your ideas and places where we can make photographs. Most of the time during couple shoots we can just go for a walk stopping at 3-4 points along the way. I won’t get you to pose awkwardly, as I like to keep the experience relaxed as if you were just going for a walk with me on your wedding day.
